TIPS FOR PUBLISHING WITH FRONTPAGE PROGRAMS

Tip 1:
Build and save your web on your local computer.

Tip 2:
Some features of the FrontPage program may not work on our servers. For
example, forms created and used with FrontPage cannot always be called securely
using a secure cert on our servers, the way forms built with perl can be.

Tip 3:
Some features of the FrontPage programs may not be available if you are
using a program version older than the extensions installed on the server.

Tip 4:
When publishing, use one of the following url formats:

http://216.123.34.127 (publishing using ip)
http://domainname.ext (publishing using domain name)

Tip 5:
If you try to use a path to publish such as:

http://domainname.ext/Frontpage/myplace

The program will be ?confused? and this can cause many errors on your web
possibly even disabling the site.

Change the directory structure within the program itself and then let the
program ?place the directories? when you publish.

Tip 6:
Saving the web site on your local computer is a good idea because if the
extensions have to be removed and reinstalled the information for borders,
themes, and various other FrontPage specific files will be lost from the
server. If those files are saved using your FrontPage program on your
computer then it is a simple matter to republish if the extensions are
reinstalled.
